Our client, a leading provider of Power Generation equipment hire in the UK, is actively seeking a passionate Area Sales Manager to join their team to cover Northern England, ideally located across the M62 Corridor. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to make a significant impact in a thriving industry.

Position Overview

As the Area Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in increasing company revenue and profitability by supporting the regional operations team in securing new customers. You will be responsible for identifying and growing existing accounts, maximising conversion rates, and delivering exceptional customer care.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and grow new accounts using market intelligence in a field-based role
  • Generate leads by identifying and targeting specific sectors to maximise conversion rates
  • Deliver maximum spend on newly acquired accounts
  • Collaborate with wider Sales Teams to share leads and opportunities
  • Meet agreed revenue and profit targets
  • Proactively grow existing accounts while adhering to pricing guidelines
  • Deliver high level of customer care in line with customer SLAs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM system with all activity
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships across different levels of the organisation
  • Assist the credit control team in minimising aged debt
  • Review and utilise monthly sales KPI reports to track account performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Promote a joined-up approach to customer engagement by engaging with local operations teams
  • Assist the Head of Business Development in building a respectful ‘one team’ culture
  • Promote change positively and assist in embedding new concepts

Requirements

  • Proven ability to secure and grow new business with spending accounts
  • Experience presenting commercial arguments formally to senior external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Highly driven and motivated to succeed
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Competent and experienced presenter
  • Intermediate IT skills, including the ability to analyse data
  • Valid driving licence
