Package: Circa £120,000, plus 20% Bonus, Company Car (BMW 5 Series or Allowance),

25 days Holiday, 4% Contributory Pension, Healthcare

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior management professional to join my clients Manufacturing business as the General Manager for the UK, based in Lancashire.

This well-established construction manufacturer has 1 factory in the UK, they’re market leaders within their field. They employ 130 staff across the UK with the business doing incredibly well and in a state of growth.

The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall management of the business, reporting directly to the board. You will have 8 direct reports with overall responsibility for 130 people across their manufacturing site. This role will require someone who is at home with commercial & operational management, this includes; departmental oversight (production, engineering / technical, transport, sales) and P&L management.

The objectives for the Managing Director include:

  • An excellent eye for detail.
  • Commercially aware, with proven track record of increasing the top line and at good margin
  • Good at nurturing and developing talent.
  • To lead the company commercially, and ensure that it remains market focused; in terms of product development, service offering and customer relationships.
  • Drive the company’s commercial activities including: marketing, sales, customer service and pricing.

Candidate’s Profile

The ideal Managing Director will demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • A proven track record of implementing and executing business strategies.
  • A strong leadership style that can manage a range of business functions and personalities.
  • Have previously held responsibility for several business functions including operations and sales for at least 5-10 Years.
  • Good commercial knowledge of the Construction market.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Technically competent with a production management background
